November 2021 – VIRTUAL

In Late October 2021, the US government opened the border to fully vaccinated Canadians.
Detroit was willing to host a November exchange, but the Canadians decided not to go.
Unfortunately, Canadians did not get to see the new banner that the Detroit Club had made for the exchange:

Detroit Sinners Committee: Dallas Schneider, Jim Morris, Duncan Whitmore, Gordy Loud, Dave Urbiel, Bill Morris, Steven Rietz, Paul Gaines

So, another virtual exchange was held.

This time the Detroit club organized  curling on Saturday November 13 and picked teams representing Detroit and Canada.

  1. We have a Zoom call recording of the totally unbiased picking of teams.
  2. There is a Youtube live stream recording of the curling match.
  3. There is another Zoom call recording after the curling match where Detroit wondered how the teams they had picked ended up with Canada ahead by 3!

November 13:

8:45am:  Gathering at the Detroit club with a Zoom Call

A few of the curlers gather before the teams were picked. Who is going to play for the home country!

Duncan Whitmore picked for the US and Bill Morris for Canada. Paul Gaines maintains order.

Joining the Zoom call in Canada were: Marcus Baker, Dave Cain, Bob MacMillan, Jim Renaud and Matt Schumacher.
Detroit set up one camera in their lounge for the Zoom call.
Here is a recording of the Zoom call showing the picking of the teams.
